Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Are these the two candidates to replace Sherwood? Walcott repeats 2-0 gesture

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Ajax coach Frank de Boer and Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino are the favourites for the Tottenham job this summer.

De Boer has been public over the fact he’d be keen on the job while Pochettino has been linked with the role for a number of months.

The Telegraph reports that the Saints manager has already been approached over the position.

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott couldn’t help himself but repeat the 2-0 gesture which enraged Spurs fans earlier this season.

Walcott made a 2-0 sign on Arsenal’s lap of honour yesterday, which he first produced in the North London derby as he was carried off injured.

Spurs fans were enraged afterwards which prompted a war of words on Twitter between both sets of supporters.

Emmanuel Adebayor has provided a line of support for head coach Tim Sherwood.

The forward wants the current boss to stay ahead of next season, with several top coaches continuously linked with the White Hart Lane job.

“Hopefully he stays, but I am not the chairman of the club so I can’t tell you anything about that - No matter where he goes, I will always keep him in my heart and I have a huge respect for him,” said the striker.
