Until the Arsenal management, and more Arsenal fans, see 4th as a failure, we'll continue coming 4th. End. #afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) May 4, 2014
Arsenal fan Piers Morgan responded angrily to a Tweet from pundit Richard Keys, which praised Arsenal’s points total this season.
Keys pointed out that Arsenal’s win against West Brom yesterday takes the Gunners onto their highest points total for six years, which Morgan doesn’t think should be viewed as an achievement.
Morgan has been critical of Arsenal’s aim to finish at least fourth this season, suggesting the Gunners need to be aiming higher than fourth place, which he considers a failure.
Morgan has suggested that until the Gunners consider finishing fourth in the league a failure rather than an achievement, Arsenal won’t make any progress if that’s their basic aim over the coming seasons.
Arsenal have spent more days at the top of the Premier League than any other team this season but have dipped in form over the second half of the campaign, which has led to this point.
