Manchester City latest: Toure on title race affecting his family; Hart praised by boss

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has hailed Joe Hart for his performances in the second half of the season.

It is hard to believe that it was only this season that the England goalkeeper’s future was in serious doubt after he was dropped in favour of Costel Pantilimon.

But in quotes published by the Manchester Evening News Pellegrini said, “One of the good things that we did this year was to talk to him and sit him (out) some games because he was in a very bad moment, but he reacted as a professional player, the number one in England.”

In other news, Edin Dzeko has been named in Bosnia’s World Cup squad for this summer’s tournament.

Dzeko and his teammates will face Argentina, Nigeria and Iran in the group stage starting in June.

And finally, Yaya Toure has revealed that it is tough on his family as City compete with his brother Kolo’s Liverpool side for the Premier League title.

In quotes published by ITV, the City midfielder said, “Your family have to try to be balanced – they are divided. Sport is unbelievable in that it can break hearts.

“The family don’t want to choose a side. We don’t know how it will end.”

They only have one more week until they find out, with many observers believing City will go on to reclaim the title given their remaining games.

But neither Toure brother will be taking anything for granted in the tightest title race in years.
