All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Emirates…

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has his eye on the Golden Glove this season, with Petr Cech’s injury meaning the Polish international is just one clean-sheet away from claiming the prize.

The Gunners stopper has 16 shut-outs so far this season, equal with Chelsea’s ‘keeper, but a clean-sheet against Norwich City next weekend would see Szczesny go ahead of his rival.

In quotes published by the Express, Szczesny said, “I think I’m level with Cech, and I must admit it was in my head for the last 10 or 15 minutes of the (West Brom) game and I didn’t want to concede.

“If I win the Golden Glove I would love it, but it doesn’t matter right now.”

Szezesny has had a very impressive campaign between the sticks, which makes the continual reports linking Arsenal with other experienced goalkeepers somewhat confusing.

The Pole has now well and truly proved that he deserves to be the Gunners’ number one.

In other news, Abou Diaby has admitted he thought about quitting the game in an interview with L’Equipe but that he is happy to be back after so long out injured.

In quotes later published by Sky Sports, the French midfielder said, “I would have loved to play 10 minutes this weekend.

“I was counting substitutions: One, two and three. There was big desire. I am ready. Anyway, I am already happy to have reached this point.”

With two matches remaining, Diaby will hopefully get the chance to play this season. Who knows, he could even play a part in a FA Cup success…
