Arsenal beat West Bromwich Albion on Sunday afternoon courtesy of a goal from Olivier Giroud. That single strike ensured the Gunners won their last home match of the season and gave the fans more to cheer about after they had secured Champions League football without kicking a ball on Saturday.
Giroud's goal came in the 14th minute of the match, when the Frenchman headed in a Santi Cazorla corner.
Arsenal dominated the game, having 60% of the ball, and they could have doubled their lead but Lukas Podolski saw his shot come back off the post.
The Baggies tried their best to get a goal of their own, as their 11 shots testified, and yet they managed only one effort on target.
Arsenal are now seven points clear of Everton while West Brom are in 16th place, four points above the relegation-zone.
