Liverpool, for all their excellent performances this season, look likely to end their campaign without silverware after Manchester City took the lead in the fight for the title.
Defeat at Anfield last week against Chelsea handed the momentum back to City - and they came through a tough looking tie against Everton yesterday with all three points.
Therefore Brendan Rodgers will not be able to add his first piece of silverware to an already extensive Liverpool cabinet at Anfield.
But one Liverpool player is celebrating a trophy win.

Brendan Rodgers didn’t want Reina at the club - and moved him on in favour of signing Simon Mignolet from Sunderland instead.
So Reina went and joined his former boss on Merseyside Rafa Benitez at Napoli - who yesterday won their second Coppa Italia trophy in three years.
In a controversial game marred by serious crowd trouble (three people were shot before the game in Rome) Napoli won 3-1 - Lorenzo Insigne the hero with a double.
And Reina was clearly pleased with the result…
