Tottenham fans react on Twitter to West Ham loss - "We're a laughing stock!"

Tottenham's underwhelming season continued with a disappointing 2-0 defeat at West Ham United this afternoon.

After splashing out over £100m on new talent in the summer, Tottenham were expected to seal a top four place and possibly challenge for the title, but with just one game to play, Spurs are seven points adrift of the Champions League spots having played a game more.

The poor displays under Andre Villas-Boas have continued with Tim Sherwood at the helm, and they lost today's London derby with West Ham without even putting up a fight. An own goal from Harry Kane and a Stewart Downing strike put the Hammers 2-0 up at half time and that's how it stayed, consigning Spurs to another defeat.

Fans on Twitter were praying for the summer to come, where Spurs are not only expected to appoint a new manager but also undergo another squad overhaul. Today's performance simply served to confirm that many players aren't good enough and should be replaced, which was the consensus amongst fans.

Here are some of the reactions from Spurs supporters, with praise for goalkeeper Hugo Lloris but criticism for manager Sherwood.
