Kieran Gibbs is back in action - but it may be too soon for a comeback against West Brom.
Arsenal face West Brom at The Emirates tomorrow in a game which could, circumstances permitting, secure their place in the Champions League next season.
The Gunners are on a green patch of form but The Baggies will be pumped up as they aim to not be the third team to drop down to the Championship - following Fulham and Cardiff City’s plight earlier today.
Arsenal probably would have wrapped up their qualification already this season if it were not for injury - with the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey for instance all picking up injuries throughout the season.
Another one of their more injury prone players is Kieran Gibbs -and he was expected to miss the game against West Brom tomorrow.
Earlier in the week Arsene Wenger said of Gibbs and his fitness battle:
“Gibbs will be a bit short for Sunday. The good news is that he's back in fitness training but he is not back in the full training group yet.”
However he was back in full training today - suggesting he might just be ahead of schedule.
The likelihood remains that Gibbs will not be in action tomorrow - with Nacho Monreal a more than apt replacement.
But Gibbs certainly looks set to make it back in time for the FA Cup final later this month.
