Atletico Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, FC Porto and Hamburg stars all feature.
Chelsea may have been knocked out of the Champions League this past week but that’s done nothing to stop the rumour mill linking them with some top quality signings.
Jose Mourinho will definitely be adding a striker to his squad this summer after lamenting his attacking options this season, while there is also the need for a new face at left-back.
Here are five of the best players to be linked with moves to the Bridge this past week.
Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)
Chelsea fans got the chance to watch Costa up close in the game last Wednesday. They should be impressed by what they saw because the forward displayed strength, pace and energy, cutting the sort of figure Chelsea have been lacking since the days of Didier Drogba.
Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid)
Another player that the Blues have been linked with from Atletico is left-back Filipe Luis. He patrolled the left hand side well against Chelsea in the face of a difficult task containing Willian. He’s been a vital component of Atletico’s success so far this season.
Paulinho (Tottenham Hotspur)
A controversial signing could be the Spurs midfield star. The Brazilian has been suggested as a potential midfield addition for the Blues, despite the number of options they have in the middle of their team. The Mirror suggests the player feels underused by Tim Sherwood.
Juan Iturbe (FC Porto)
The South American star, on loan at Hellas Verona, is an attacking midfield option the Blues could consider. There is a gap in Chelsea’s squad following the sale of Juan Mata but it’s a case of whether Iturbe would take the move, knowing that he’s likely to be behind Oscar in the pecking order next season.
Hakan Calhanoglu (Hamburg)
A move for the Turkish international would come a bit out of left field, considering he’s not the sort of high profile player that Chelsea fans will want to see the club go after this summer. However, he has been linked with some very good clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League.
