The season may not even be over, but competition on the transfer market is already hotting up with clubs looking ahead to the 2014-15 campaign.
Two players who have been drawing particular interest are Salih Ucan and Caner Erkin of Fenerbahce, fresh off celebrating a Turkish Super Lig title win last weekend.
Ucan is a 20-year-old playmaker who rose to become an integral part of the first team this term, whilst Erkin is a versatile 25-year-old capable of playing as either a left-winger or left-back.
Unfortunately for the English trio, however, it seems Roma are taking steps to snap up both men for themselves.
And Uzun reportedly revealed that Roma are set to offer Erkin - whose expiring Fenerbahce contract makes him available for free this summer - a three-year, €3 million per season deal.
The news comes as a blow for United, Liverpool and Chelsea as the pair of Turkish internationals could be had at a relatively low cost with plenty of upside.
All three Premier League giants are expected to spend a considerable amount reinforcing their squads, but value signings such as Ucan and Erkin could add talent and depth with little financial risk.
If United still have plans to bring in Ucan and Liverpool and Chelsea hope to land Erkin, they may now be facing an uphill battle with Roma out in front, so will need to act quickly.
