Chelsea were thoroughly outplayed in the centre of midfield in the second half of their 3-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid last night, with key Spanish star Koke having a substantial role in his side’s victory.
The Spain international, who has been repeatedly linked with a move to Manchester United, has blossomed into a real star for Diego Simeone’s men.
Koke spoke of his delight at making the Champions League final after the game.
"I'm delighted. I can't explain how I feel right now,” he is quoted as saying by Marca.
“I'd just like to thank all the travelling fans, plus our families... The team stood up to be counted and we're over the moon. I have no words to express how I feel.”
Atletico now face sworn rivals Real Madrid in the final, with Koke and his side underdogs once more.
The young midfielder may well be linked with other clubs, but he looks increasingly likely to stay at the Vicente Calderon next term.
