Tottenham latest: De Boer saga rumbles on, interest in Paulinho

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Thursday evening.

Tottenham Head Coach Tim Sherwood has been disappointed by all the speculation surrounding his job, with Ajax boss Frank De Boer the latest person to be linked with the top job at White Hart Lane next season.

There have been claims that the club have approached De Boer but Spurs issued a statement denying any approach, and Sherwood has told Sky Sports that someone has been telling ‘porkies’.

He said: “When clubs are coming out and saying Tottenham have actually spoken to them and managers are coming out and saying they’ve spoken to them too, it’s disappointing.

“Tottenham are not making any comment on that until the season finishes. So I’m just carrying on as I normally do, being as professional as I can and preparing the team.”

De Boer’s brother Ronald, is quoted by Sky Sports saying he thinks Frank will be a good fit at White Hart Lane as he already knows some of the players.

He said: “It is a nice club with history, one of the nicest clubs in the Premiership. The club has ambition and the budget for it.”

It appears that Paulinho is a wanted man in the next transfer window according to the London Evening Standard.

Reports yesterday indicated that Chelsea were ready to make a bid for the midfielder but Real Madrid and AC Milan are said to be in the race to land the Brazilian, who signed for £17m last summer.

There is going to be a familiar face back at White Hart Lane on 12th May in the form of Dimitar Berbatov, who will take part in the Ledley King testimonial.

The Bulgarian to the club’s website: “It is a fitting tribute for a great player and I can't wait to meet up with some of the past and present players. It should be a great night not just for Ledley but for the fans too."
