Liverpool’s most valuable player says he is staying with the Anfield club
Luis Suarez has delivered some good news to Liverpool supporters on Thursday, saying they do not need to worry about his future.
Real Madrid are thought to be chasing the Uruguayan this summer, as they seek to add to their Galactico stars in Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
But Suarez, who could still lift the Premier League title with Liverpool this season, has dismissed speculation that he could be on his way out of the club.
'I'm very happy here and my family is happy here,” he told Uruguay television station Canal 10.
'Don't worry nothing is going to happen to me. If we could win the Premier League and bring the trophy home it would be incredible, a dream come true.'
Suarez also revealed his anguish at losing ground in the title race when Liverpool lost 2-0 to Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday. The striker admitted the Reds became nervous, and that he hopes Manchester City still have at least one more slip in their remaining fixtures this season.
'I'm still upset, it was so frustrating, we couldn't find spaces and we made a mistake and it was hard to deal with,” Suarez added.
'I was upset because of our mistake; we all got nervous and lost control. It was impossible to find spaces to get in.
'We are hoping Man City loses some points but in the Premier League you never know, anything is possible.
Liverpool face Crystal Palace and Newcastle in their remaining two Premier League games this season, but will lose out on the title if Manchester City win all their games.
Manager Brendan Rodgers admitted on Sunday he would still be happy with the season’s achievements even if Liverpool did not win the league, as they qualified for Champions League football for the first time in four seasons. Whatever their achievements, Liverpool will be happier knowing that Suarez sees his future in Merseyside.
