Jan Aage Fjortoft couldn't force a comment from Real Madrid on the latest reports of their interest in Luis Suarez.
Bundesliga football expert Jan Aage Fjortoft revealed through his Twitter account that he wasn’t able to get Real Madrid to comment on the latest Luis Suarez transfer rumours last night.
The TV pundit was in attendance as Bayern Munich were destroyed by Real Madrid in front of their own fans, with the ex-professional unable to get a comment from the Spaniards over their interest in Liverpool’s front man.
The latest reports suggest that Los Blancos are interested in signing Suarez this summer for £70 million despite him signing a new contract at Anfield earlier this season and despite Liverpool qualifying for the Champions League.
To add fuel to the fire, Fjortoft also Tweeted that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had refused to appear on camera, possibly nervous about the idea of being drawn out over the latest reports.
Just talked to Real president Perez. Unfortunately dont want to be on Camera. Very happy of course: - We are the best team in the world...— Jan Aage Fjortoft (@JanAageFjortoft) April 29, 2014
Perez is a Real Madrid official who has made loud noises in the transfer market before, making promises which have come true in the cases of signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United and Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur.
While Liverpool should feel safe that they won’t lose their best player, who has just been voted the PFA Player of the Year, it’s unlikely to be the end to one of the biggest transfer rumours floating around in the market at the moment.
