Lazio and Udinese have reportedly come to an arrangement that will allow the Eternal City side to own all of Antonio Candreva, although he could be headed for Old Trafford in the summer.
The gifted playmaker has become Lazio's talisman since the sale of Brazilian star Hernanes to Inter in the January transfer window.
Candreva had already been turning heads with his performances in Serie A and managed five goals in a month to further his case for a transfer to one of Europe's top sides.
The 27-year-old has been linked to Manchester United on many occasions over the last few months and he may have taken the first of many steps towards that switch as Lazio are set to buy full ownership, which would allow them to sell him on.
While Candreva will reportedly receive a sign-on bonus of around £1.6m and a significant pay hike, there is no guarantee that he will stick around for next season.
Manchester United would be able to dwarf his wages and could also offer Lazio a sum they would be unable to refuse.
However adamant Lazio are that Candreva is crucial to their future, the sale of Hernanes for around £15m, which started a fan revolt, showed that every player in the Biancocelesti squad has a price.
