Former Chelsea play-maker Deco believes Jose Mourinho will mastermind yet another Champions League success.
The Portuguese maestro played for the Blues for two seasons, scoring 17 goals in that time following his move from Barcelona.
Deco won the competition under Mourinho at FC Porto, and he has now revealed that his ex-boss is his tip to hold the trophy aloft again come May.
In quotes published by A Bola following an interview with the Press Association, Deco said, “The cup is for Mourinho. Maybe it’s against his former club, Real Madrid, which will be good for him.
Deco also suggested that Chelsea played the right game against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the semi-final.
“They knew that tie will be decided in London,” he added.
The Blues are currently level at 0-0 with the La Liga side, but having seen off Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge in the previous round, they will be quietly confident of another glorious night under the spotlights.
That said, Atletico have been enjoying a sparkling campaign of their own and have the players to end Mourinho’s dream of winning Europe’s biggest club competition with a third different side.
But if you believe Deco, it may be meant to be.
