Saints star prefers move to Liverpool over Man United – report

The Daily Mail states that Adam Lallana has set his heart on a move to Anfield, not Old Trafford.

Southampton are bracing themselves for a summer of trying to hold onto their best players, with some of the Premier League’s top teams circling the likes of Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana.

Lallana has been the side’s midfield talisman, showcasing superb vision and ability on the ball this term.

The England international will not be short of options this summer, with it believed that Manchester United and Liverpool are both keen to sign the star.

The Daily Mail have instigated that the Southampton man has a preference over where he ends up – with a potential switch to Anfield appealing more than a move to Old Trafford.

United are expected to launch a double bid for Shaw and Lallana, and while they are the frontrunners for the left-back, the outgoing Premier League champions could be set to miss out on the attacking midfielder.

The report suggests that Liverpool will open their bidding at £15 million, with Lallana’s £35,000 wages to be doubled if he agrees to move to Merseyside.

The 25-year-old looks set to earn a place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for this summer’s World Cup, with a move to a top four club seemingly increasingly likely.
