Manchester City latest: Blues star attracting interest; Everton will not roll over

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

It is a relatively quiet day for Manchester City fans, but there has been some interesting transfer news relating to Aleksandar Kolarov.

The Serbian full-back has long been linked with an Etihad exit, and now Calcio Mercato has published quotes from the assistant of Kolarov’s agent who gave an interview with ASRomaRadio.

Dejan Joksimovic is quoted as saying, “First of all I want to clarify that the brother of Kolarov is the agent that deals directly with him. I’m his assistant. I can tell you that Roma maybe is following him, but there are problems.

“Firstly he has a contract for £3.5million for another year with Manchester City, so it would be difficult also, because Roma cannot pay these figures.

“There are other teams that are following him such as Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan, Monaco and also the Russian teams.”

So it seems Kolarov is a wanted man, but only time will tell if he really is set for a summer exit or if City offer him an extension to his current deal.

In other news, much has been written about Everton’s upcoming match against the Blues and the fact that Toffees fans may not mind losing the match if it prevents Liverpool from winning the title.

But former Everton star Ian Snodin believes there is no chance his former club will roll over.

Writing in the Daily Post, Snodin said, “I can tell you now: Everton are going out there to win.

“Not only is there still the chance they could qualify for the Champions League, but they are professional footballers.”
