Arsenal look all-but assured a place in the Champions League next season, with a 3-0 home win over Newcastle on Monday night distancing the North London club from closest rivals Everton.

However, the victory over the Tyneside club also ensured that the Emirates Stadium fans could celebrate St Totteringham’s Day.

This event of cult importance to Arsenal fans marks the day where Arsenal are guaranteed to finish above cross-town rivals Spurs, which was achieved with the win over Newcastle.

Although the fans have taken to social media to celebrate the event, Lukas Podolski also joined in the fun with a message and picture on Twitter.

The Germany international is active on social media and his vehement support and backing of the club has made him a firm fans’ favourite.

Arsenal now know that a win against either West Brom at home or Norwich away is enough to secure Champions League football again for next season.
