Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Spurs to sign former Gunner? Sherwood slams speculation

Alex Song Cameroon

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

The Sunday People claims that Barcelona star and former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song, is open to a move to Tottenham.

Song has struggled to break into the first team ever since he made the switch to the Nou Camp.

A deal would reportedly be worth around £10 million but may see a similar type player leave Spurs in the same deal.

Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood says he’s unhappy with speculation over his job at the club.

The boss has criticised the way people are linked to the top job at White Hart Lane while he still remains in charge.

“Some of these managers are actually touting themselves for my job and I don't think that's right. That doesn't sit well with me, so if someone asks me about another club I'll say, 'They already have a manager,’” he told the press.

Spurs defender Danny Rose has admitted that he should have been sent off in the weekend win against Stoke City.

Rose was booked for pushing a Stoke player, reacting to a previous confrontation and was withdrawn from the game by Tim Sherwood shortly after.

“I don't mind people booing me but I did lose my head for 10 seconds. It was because of the bad tackle but nothing to do with the fans,” he’s quoted by Sky Sports.
