Piers Morgan has named his own team of the season, featuring just two Arsenal players.
My Premier League XI: Cech Azpilicueta, Kompany, Koscielny, Shaw, Hazard, Toure, Ramsey, Silva Suarez, Aguero— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) April 27, 2014
Piers Morgan responded to the PFA’s decision to name no Arsenal stars in their team of the season by producing his own eleven.
However, he only included two Arsenal players himself; Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny.
Aaron Ramsey made the cut in Morgan’s team of the season as he suggested that the fact no Gunners appeared in the official one ‘said everything’ about the season his side have had under Arsene Wenger.
Ramsey is the only Arsenal player to arguably make tremendous progress on the player he was from last season, eclipsing his goals and assists figures in fewer appearances.
Arsenal were very much the team to beat over the first half of the season, playing attractive football and keeping fans like Morgan happy.
However, since the turn of the year it’s been an all too familiar story.
Arsenal have slipped off the pace, out of the title race and confined to a situation where fourth place is the best the Gunners can hope for once again.
