PICTURES: Gerrard mocked for that slip against Chelsea on Twitter

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is on the receiving end of some Twitter mock-ups today.

Steven Gerrard’s slip against Chelsea yesterday paved the way for Demba Ba to give Chelsea a lead, which they never relinquished.

Gerrard lost his footing as the ball rolled away from him, which allowed Ba to run onto the ball before slotting in to score Chelsea’s first goal with a neat nutmeg on goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

The Liverpool captain looked devastated following the error, which put his side behind and several mock-ups in relation to the mistake have already started to pop up on social media site Twitter.

The defeat handed a slight advantage back to Manchester City in the title race but Liverpool are still firmly in the hunt.

While those who produced the mock-ups will have a laugh at Gerrard’s expense, the Liverpool skipper will now surely be more determined than ever to ensure that the Reds don’t make any more mistakes before the end of the season.
