Manchester City's Sergio Aguero tweeted a picture to show his support for Barcelona's Dani Alves following yesterday's racial abuse.

Unfortunately in this day and age acts of racism are still occurring in football and it is something which needs to be obliterated. However rather refreshingly Dani Alves reacted superbly to having a banana thrown towards him in Sunday's clash between Barcelona and Villarreal.

In scenes that were shared across the world instantly via social media, Dani Alves picked up the banana and took a bite out of it before continuing play and taking a corner. Alves has received huge support and kudos for his act and it's a great way to fight back against the racism still apparent.

Sergio Aguero is just one of many footballers to show their support for Dani Alves, as he tweeted a picture of himself and Brazilian women's football superstar Marta.

Barcelona secured a huge win yesterday coming from two goals behind to beat Villarreal 3-2 and keep their tile hopes alive. They remain four points behind Atletico Madrid with just three games to go. Real Madrid are in third place six points behind the leaders, but with a game in hand.

Aguero's Manchester City have a much better chance of winning their respective domestic title. It was a great weekend for City with Liverpool slipping up at home to Chelsea whilst Aguero & co beat Crystal Palace 2-0. They are now just three points behind Liverpool but with a game in hand and a superior goal difference.
