Chelsea fans react on Twitter to Hazard PFA award - 'He must feel insulted!'

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard picked up the PFA's Young Player of the Year Award last night despite being 24-years-old.

Eden Hazard narrowly missed out on the PFA’s Player of the Year award, which went to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

However, it wasn’t a wasted effort for the Belgian to get suited and booted as he picked up the Young Player of the Year award after a superb season, which has seen him emerge as Chelsea’s most important player.

Hazard has produced a solid set of figures; 14 goals and 9 assists from 33 Premier League appearances, along with two goals in a Champions League campaign which has seen the Blues reach the last four.

Some will suggest that he deserves the main award more than Suarez because his performances have been from a wider position over the central areas enjoyed by a striker.

Either way, there’s no doubt that Hazard deserved some sort of recognition last night and focus will now switch to the summer.

PSG have been lurking over the second half of the season and circling, looking for any sign that Hazard himself would be vulnerable to a move to Ligue One or a sign that Chelsea could be willing to listen to offers.

Reported offers are within the region of £50-60 million which would be difficult for the Blues to resist but Mourinho has played a blinder in relation to the player’s future in the press.

The Portuguese boss has played down any speculation that Hazard could leave, protecting him well from the rumour mill and giving Chelsea fans no reason to believe that he’ll be playing his football anywhere else next season.

Hazard now faces a race against time after admitting last night that he’s going all out to be fit for the game against Atletico Madrid this week, which is another platform where he could demonstrate his world class ability and just how important he’s become to this Chelsea team.

Here’s what Blues fans made of his award on Twitter last night.
