Argentina’s attacking options ahead of this summer’s World Cup are considerable with the likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain at Alejandro Sabella’s disposal.

However, the South American nation will be sweating over the fitness of one of their stars as Higuain was stretchered off in Napoli’s clash with Inter yesterday.

The talented forward, who was heavily linked with Arsenal in the summer before sealing a switch to San Paolo, looked to shoot in the closing minutes of the 0-0 draw, but had his shot blocked by Marco Andreolli.

The extent of the ex-Real Madrid’s injury is yet to be fully revealed, with the centre forward in danger of missing Napoli’s Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina also.

If the prognosis does leave Higuain struggling for the World Cup, there is an outside chance that it could open the door for Carlos Tevez to be included.

The Juventus forward has fallen out with Sabella in the past, but his inclusion if Higuain is unavailable seems mutually beneficial.
