Arsenal morning news: Sagna set to leave and Welbeck targeted

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.

Bacary Sagna is said to have rejected Arsenal’s contract offer. On Friday Arsene Wenger admitted the ball was in the Frenchman’s court over his future after he rejected two recent offers - but now it looks as though he will leave.

The most recent offer is said to be worth £100k-a-week and would be a two-year-deal with a one year extension but he is said to not want the stay.

He is being targeted by Manchester City, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce and is said to want a stay in the Premier League.

Arsenal are being linked with a move for Danny Welbeck as they look for a good option to rival Olivier Giroud next season.

The Manchester United striker is said to be upset with his lack of opportunities at Old Trafford - and is also being eyed up by Tottenham Hotspur.

The England international is however said to be happier at the Theatre of Dreams now that David Moyes has been relieved of his duties at the club last week.

Samir Nasri claims he wanted to stay at the club.

The Manchester City star left the club in 2011 for The Etihad - but he left after the club stalled on a new deal:

“What happened is this: it was my best season with Arsenal. We were in October [2010] and the manager asked me whether I wanted to stay at Arsenal. "Yes I want to stay at Arsenal. I said “We wait, we wait, we wait. We arrived in June. I have only one year left on my contract.”

Arsenal reportedly want Swiss international Josip Drmic - however it looks as though he is on his way to Bayer Leverkusen.

It is reported in Germany that the Nurnberg star wants to stay in the Bundesliga and it looks as though he might just get his wish.
