Tottenham Hotspur take on Stoke City this weekend at the Britannia Stadium - and it looks as though popular midfielder Sandro will not be in action for the club once again.
He was dropped last weekend, which he himself revealed on his personal Twitter account.
And after the game, in Sherwood’s usually tactile fashion, he revealed just why he hadn’t picked the man who is on his way to play for Brazil at this summer’s World Cup finals:
“I don't think he's good enough to be in the side at the minute, when he shows me he's up to the level of the other players he'll be back in the squad. I like Sandro as a player but he has to work hard to be back in the side.”
Sandro has returned to training this week, and also made it clear that his pre-game Tweet last weekend was only done to put concerned fan’s minds at ease over a possible injury problem.
But despite a good weeks’ worth of training for the player it looks as though he will miss out again - meaning he won’t be able to get one over on Charlie Adam after all.
Sherwood was again asked about his midfielder, nicknamed ‘The Beast’, and this is what he had to say:
"Not good enough because there are people ahead of him. Not not good enough. There are people ahead of him in the squad and I have to assess it. We'll train again today. He's trained well all week. He is a good trainer. But he has got certain attributes what we require certain times and other players have got other attributes for what I need for different games. We have been dominating the football in most of our games recently. I think other people are ahead of him in regards to that."
