Arsenal morning news: Wenger will stay and Griezmann 'top target'

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates this morning.

Arsene Wenger looks set to stay at The Emirates - after quotes attributed to him last night. His future has been in doubt, with rumours swirling he could leave if the club do not finish in the top four and win the FA Cup this term.

However he has made it clear that he only wishes to stay at The Emirates - stating:

"Look, I have said that many times already, I have given my word to this club and that I want to continue where I am … that means to stay."

Wenger is yet to formally sign a new contract at The Emirates.

Arsenal have reportedly made an approach for Real Sociedad forward Antoine Griezmann.

The French international is one of the most sought after talents in European football at the moment - with Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco also said to be keen.

However the attacker, who has scored 19 goals in 45 games this season, is now set to become a top target for The Gunners.

He is said to be commanding a fee in the region of €30 million and The Gunners will be hoping to appease fan pressure with the signing of a dynamic forward.

Arsenal Under-21’s bought their topsy-turvy season to an end in style yesterday afternoon - beating Newcastle United 3-1.

Chuba Akpom bagged a double for the Young Gunners while Ainsley Maitland-Miles also hit the back of the net in a comfortable win.

Aaron Ramsey has been speaking about his chances of winning Young Player of the Year - despite missing a big part of the season with a thigh problem.

The Welshman told Sky Sports:

"I have been really satisfied, one of the main things from the season before was to be a lot more composed in front of goal and I think I have managed to do that and put a lot more chances into the back of the net. It is nice to hear other people have noticed.”
