Arsenal and Liverpool are set to lock horns in a transfer battle this summer but not for a high profile multi-million pound European signing.
The London and Merseyside clubs are set to battle it out for a 14-year-old; Kane Wilson, the latest youngster to emerge from the West Bromwich Albion youth academy system.
It’s not uncommon for the best sides in England to compete for players at such a young age as they invest for the future, with Wilson the latest talent to attract the interest of Arsene Wenger and Brendan Rodgers.
He’s 14-years-old and has been playing two-years above his age group for the West Brom under-16 side.
His main position is midfield but he’s versatile and can also play at right-back.
His two heroes are Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus.
He’s already signed his first sponsorship deal with sports giants Adidas.
The choice he makes will depend on a number of factors but Liverpool’s likely Premier League title and the faith Brendan Rodgers has shown to younger players this season could tip the balance in favour of the Merseyside club.
