Inter Milan are clearly lacking a top-class striker and the club's chairman Erick Thohir has already stated that they will look to bring in a high-profile striker in the summer.
Edin Dzeko along with Fernando Torres and Alvaro Morata have been linked with the Nerazzurri and Thohir admitted it would be great if they could bring one of those in. All three could be departing their clubs in the summer as they look for regular first-team football.
Inter have the fourth best attack in Serie A so far this season scoring 57 goals and their top goalscorer is Rodrigo Palacio with 15 goals. Mateo Kovacic believes that out of the three aforementioned strikers linked with the club they should pursue Dzeko.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport he said "We need a top player to reduce the gap between the top teams and us. Who would I prefer between Edin Dzeko, Fernando Torres and Alvaro Morata? Dzeko."
"He is technically very strong, scores many goals and helps the team so much in defending."
Dzeko has impressed for Manchester City this season despite not having regular runs in the side. However he will be focusing on trying to win the Premier League for now and then his attentions will turn to the World Cup. His Bosnia & Herzegovina side are in Group F with Argentina, Iran and Nigeria and will fancy their chances of progressing to the last 16 of the competition.
The former Wolfsburg striker has scored 11 goals from 19 starts in the Premier League this season including two in the 3-0 defeat of Manchester United last month. Manchester City will no doubt be linked with strikers in the summer, and Dzeko could be swayed by a move to Inter Milan if they guarantee him first-team football which they will.
