Fulham have been given a boost in their fight against relegation with Kostas Mitroglou and Lewis Holtby set to return to the starting XI in Saturday’s crucial game with Hull.
The Cottagers can move out of the relegation zone if results go their way this weekend, and know that a win over Hull will move them close to survival.
Felix Magath’s side will be confident of taking all three points, especially with Kostas Mitroglou set to feature, after training on Thursday.
The Greek International, who joined the club from Olympiacos on deadline day in January for £11m, has been out with persistent knee troubles but is ready to return to action at a vital time.
Mitroglou has only made 2 appearances for Magath’s side so far, but the club are confident that the striker’s timely return can help them in their bid to regain their Premier League status next season.
Tottenham loanee Lewis Holtby will also return for Fulham, after missing last week’s 3-1 defeat at Spurs as he was unable to play against his parent club.
The German midfielder has been excellent for the Cottagers since joining in January, and could prove to be the difference in tomorrow’s pivotal contest.
Hull know that a result at Fulham will all but assure their safety, with the FA Cup final against Arsenal in a few weeks the focal point for the Tigers.
Steve Bruce’s side recorded their biggest ever win in the Premier League when they beat Fulham 6-0 back in December, and will be keen to do the double over the West London club.
Fulham had won two on the bounce before last week’s defeat at Spurs and need to improve if they are to win this contest.
They will hope the return of Holtby and Mitroglou can add enough quality to overcome the Tigers, and drag their rivals back into the heat of the relegation dogfight.
