Arsenal fans favourite Paul Merson doubts that Tottenham Hotspur can overcome Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, April 26.
The Englishman also commented on his compatriot Tim Sherwood, who despite receiving an 18-month contract in December, 2013, is widely expected to act as a mere temporary solution until Spurs are able to recruit a higher-profile long-term manager.
Sherwood, according to Merson, has "done fairly well" - an appraisal that is statistically correct as he has the highest win percentage of any Lilywhite boss in the modern format of the Premier League era (58%).
"Stoke are always very good at home and I never like to back against them, so this will be a hard game for Tottenham," said Merson, as quoted by Sky Sports.
"I actually think Spurs have done fairly well under Tim Sherwood and I'm not sure what people were expecting, but I just think they could lose to a Stoke team who are on a decent run.
"I think they will be a bit too strong for a Tottenham team that knows their manager won't be there next season."
Merson predicts a 1-0 win for Stoke.
