Chelsea morning news: Azpilicueta set for new deal, PSG could give Blues a £12m problem

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

The Daily Mail has claimed that Chelsea are reportedly considering a new contract for full-back Cesar Azpilicueta.

The Spaniard has been one of the club’s most consistent defenders this season, playing out of position at left-back ahead of Ashley Cole.

His current deal expires in 2017 and any new offer will reportedly include a significant pay increase to around £70,000 per week.

TalkSPORT has claimed that Paris Saint-Germain are considering a move for Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

The French giants have been linked with a big money move for Eden Hazard this summer but now seem ready to focus on an alternative target.

A reported £12 million offer could be on the cards though the Serbian has been one of the most consistent players in Chelsea’s team this year.

The Express has claimed Everton are considering alternatives to Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

Latest reports suggest the Toffees are looking at Manchester United’s Danny Welbeck as a possible summer addition.

The news means that Lukaku could return to Stamford Bridge and play a part in the first team next season.
