Chelsea latest: Mou on United job, Liverpool selection, academy star exit?

Mourinho Press Conference Still

All the latest news from SW6 including Jose Mourinho's comments on Manchester United management position & Liverpool line-up.

There is not one job in the world that would remove Jose Mourinho from his managerial position at Chelsea, according to the man himself who was commenting on the speculation that he may consider succeeding David Moyes at Manchester United as Ryan Giggs fulfills an interim role at Old Trafford.

"I told Chelsea that they never have to worry about me because I don't want to leave," he told reporters at a media conference earlier. "I stay here until the club wants me to stay. No job would move me from Chelsea."

Mourinho is one of a number of strong candidates who could follow Moyes, with Louis van Gaal tipped to be the likeliest next full-time head coach, while Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti are also favoured at the bookmakers despite, like Mourinho, effectively saying no in the most public of forums - via the media.

Mourinho was not his usual chipper self at the presser and was probed over his likely line-up against Liverpool. From one journalist he was grilled over whether it was all mind games, while another asked - perhaps quite rightly - whether it devalues the competition and it's spirit.

"Wait for Sunday [when] you will know our team," is all he would say about the selection, to be fielded at Anfield on Sunday, April 27.

Elsewhere, highly thought of academy star Andreas Christensen may be getting itchy feet as his father explains they may be forced to make a decision if they still go without first-team football at Stamford Bridge.

Through Danish journal BT, his father Sten said: "We are forced to think about Andreas' future and progress. From our point of view, something needs to happen after the summer. Whether it is in the first-team squad or something different, we have to consider. He should not spend one or two years where he stagnates. Andreas will not go on loan.

"It's a matter of his future progress as a footballer."

And finally, here is a photo of Mark Schwarzer in training, uploaded by the club's official Instagram account. He may well be kept busy on Sunday…
