Manchester United interim manager Ryan Giggs wants the team to play ‘like Manchester United again’.
Nicky Butt has described the Class of ’92 reunion on the coaching staff as ‘surreal’ as Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Butt took training session at the club’s Aon sponsored Carrington Training Complex this week.
"It will be massive for us, a proud moment for us all," Butt told MUTV .
"To be there together is a bit of a surreal thing. We walked in here together when we were 12 and to be here now – I'm not 40 yet but Giggsy is, and myself and Scholes are nearly there too. So for us and Phil to be there together is a very proud moment.”
Meanwhile, reports have emerged that former Red Devils captain Roy Keane could be appointed to assist Louis van Gaal should the Dutch coach come to Old Trafford.
United have already begun their ‘hunt’ for a new manager to replace David Moyes and whilst Louis van Gaal remains the favourite to take the job, a club source is quoted as saying:
"It is fair to say that a number of feelers have gone out. Ideally the process will be complete sooner rather than later but we will take as long as we need to find the right man."
The ‘Chosen One’ banner has been removed from Old Trafford following the dismissal of manager David Moyes and been replaced by a tribute banner to Sir Bobby Robson.
In transfer news, United have set their sights on Edinson Cavani, according to reports. The club are understood to be preparing an offer for the Uruguayan striker to lure him from Paris Saint-German.
According to reports, United could bid £60 million for the striker this summer who has found himself behind Zlatan Imbrahimovic in the pecking order at the Parc des Princes since arriving last summer.
The Mirror suggests that United are closing in on Luke Shaw who is the subject of a £30 million deal to move from Southampton this summer.
United are also linked with Chelsea target Ezequiel Lavezzi today but could risk losing youngster Will Keane, according to reports.
