It was rumoured back in September - but now the Express believe that Tottenham Hotspur did try to deliberately sabotage Arsenal’s deal for Mesut Ozil last summer.
Ozil, who is being linked with an unlikely move to Barcelona this summer, arrived for £42.4 million last September. But as Spurs sold Gareth Bale to Real Madrid for a world record fee on the same day they desperately wanted to prevent Madrid selling him to their North London rivals.
However nothing appeared to come to fruition - as he made the move to The Emirates.

The player is being lined up as the potential replacement for Mikel Arteta - who has had a relatively poor season.
