Petr Cech At Stamford Bridge

Chelsea shot-stopper Petr Cech was snapped signing the visitor’s book at the local CEMTRO Madrid clinic following his injury.

Chelsea shot-stopper Petr Cech has been ruled out for the rest of the season after dislocating his shoulder during his side’s Champions League semi-final showdown against Atletico Madrid Tuesday night.

The incident happened in the 16th minute, as the Czech Republic international collided awkwardly with Raul Garcia as he clawed away Koke’s in-swinging corner from underneath the Chelsea crossbar.

The Chelsea number one immediately called for assistance as he lay flat out on the turf, and signalled to his teammates that he was unable to continue.

After a lengthy delay, the 31-year-old was helped to his feet and trudged off the pitch before being replaced by the experienced Chelsea number 2 Mark Schwarzer.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho was cursing his luck following a number of recent injuries, and told reporters afterwards that Cech’s season is unfortunately over:

'Petr Cech’s season over. Don’t ask me technically, but season over', he is quoted in the Daily Mail.

While Chelsea held out for a battling 0-0 to take back to Stamford Bridge for next week’s second leg, Cech was spotted at the CEMTRO clinic signing the visitor’s book with his right arm in a sling.
