Chelsea's record signing met up with a man who could yet replace him at Stamford Bridge, who he shares a lot in common with.
Fernando Torres shared time with AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao after the 0-0 draw at with Atletico Madrid.
Falcao is currently out with a knee ligament injury, racing to get fit in time for the World Cup.
He remains a long term striker target of Chelsea, although Diego Costa is seen as the more likely transfer option at present.
Torres and Falcao share plenty in common of course as well as being top strikers in world football through the courses of their careers.
Both have worn the famous red and white shirts of Atletico Madrid and led the line for the Spanish side, which was the very reason Falcao was at the Vicente Calderon, to watch his former side.
