I am casting my eye back to this exact day, the 23rd April 2014, but a year earlier.
What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?
Here are some of the big scoops from the 23rd April 2013…
Guard of what?
It is hard to believe that a year ago today Manchester United players, and most likely their manager, were waking up with hangovers after celebrating winning the Premier League title.
It was their 20th League title and the last of the Sir Alex Ferguson era - a year later and the club, seventh in the Premier League, is in disarray.
But a year ago it was Arsenal who were despairing at United - as they were reportedly upset at being asked to give their rivals a guard of honour in the upcoming weekend clash between the two sides.
It meant they would be giving a guard of honour to their former captain Robin Van Persie - who had left the club in acrimonious fashion the previous summer.
Manchester United and Arsenal were among many teams said to have missed out on Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Mario Gotze - after he decided to join Bayern Munich.
A year ago today Bayern announced the deal - believed to be worth in the region of €31 million.
He has not been in the same sensational form he showcased at Signal Iduna Park but he has still helped Bayern to another record breaking campaign.
The Ajax midfielder had made his intention to leave the Dutch side clear for a number of weeks and he had reportedly chosen Manchester City as his next destination.
Of course this was not the case - and he didn’t go to Liverpool either.
Instead he joined Spurs - and has perhaps been their only good summer signing.
