'Everything is still possible' - Chelsea loanee Courtois on Facebook

Thibaut Coutois

Thibaut Courtois is still hoping to knock his parent club out of the Champions League.

There is no doubt that the game between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid last night was something of a ‘game of the goalkeepers’.

Throughout the 90 minutes we got to see a grand total of three different current Chelsea goalkeepers in action.

Petr Cech fractured his shoulder early on so Mark Schwarzer made his way into the action - and had a solid game.

Of course Thibaut Courtois was the main topic of discussion before the game.

Currently on a long term loan at Atletico from Chelsea the Belgian number one goalkeeper had a solid, if not inactive game, between the sticks for the La Liga outfit.

Before the fixture got under way the big question was whether he would actually play against his parent club.

In the end common sense prevailed and Courtois was allowed to play in the fixture - and now he has taken to social media to express his feelings on the game.

He said on Instagram:

Atletico - Chelsea 0-0! Gran ambiente en el estadio ! Great atmosphere in the stadium ! #atleti

Meanwhile he also added through his official Facebook account…

No doubt where Courtois’ current loyalties lie.
