Paul Scholes will be assisting Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt at Carrington.>
Manchester United took the bold decision to sack ‘the chosen one’ David Moyes yesterday - after what has been a terrible season under the former Manchester United boss - and they have looked to a group of Fergie Fledglings to save the day.
Ryan Giggs is in temporary charge of the club until the end of the season - and he will also be ably assisted by Phil Neville and Nicky Butt - meanwhile former Everton goalkeeper coach Chris Woods has not followed Jimmy Lumsden and Steve Round out of the exit door.
But perhaps the most exciting news from a United fan perspective is the idea of Paul Scholes returning.
It was heavily rumoured yesterday that the former midfield maestro would be coming back to aid the coaching efforts until the end of the campaign - and now the club have confirmed it through their official Twitter account.
It's great to see Paul Scholes here at the Aon Training Complex today, assisting Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Phil Neville. #mufc— Manchester United (@ManUtd) April 23, 2014
Scholes was recently highly critical of United during a rare TV appearance on Sky Sports - covering the Manchester derby last month:
“The players haven't helped in that way because they're not playing in the way they should do and that makes it even harder for the manager to find his best team.”
Now he is being charged with trying to get the best out of them - and if he is as acid like with his tongue as he can be - they might do well to buck up their ideas.
