2001 Classic "Cel Damage" back in HD and available now!

Cell Damage HD

Cel Damage is an HD reboot of the original 2001 racing game for the Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube.

Cel Damage is a cel-shaded, cartoony vehicle shooter/racing game which has been released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on April 22nd 2014. It was originally released in 2001 by Pseudo Interactive and is brought back to you years later, remastered in high definition by developer's Finish Line Games. It is the cartoony rival of the well known vehicular combat game "Twisted Metal". It currently appears to be exclusive to Sony with no appearance or mention of coming to Microsoft. It is available now.

The game features 10 fictional characters from a fictional TV entertainment show called "Cel Damage". This brutalized race-styled sport consists of two things to keep the show's sadistic audience glued to their sofas and hooked to their T.V screens. Murder and Racing. The characters will stop at nothing to mercilessly annihilate each other, but much like the traditional cartoons, they walk away with no more than a few bruises and are certain to  waste no time springing back off the floor and onto their feet. Let's face it, even X-Men's Wolverine would be jealous of these guys regenerative and accelerated healing abilities.

The game has a pretty nice weapon selection from chainsaw's to freeze rays to black holes, even portable nuclear devices. You have your work laid out for you. There is also 10 vehicles for you to choose from, which isn't a lot, but at the end of the day, the man or woman with the best weapon wins. And there are a lot of weapons at your disposal.

You will find themselves competing against one another in order to gain smack points or to hinder the scores of your opponents, there are 3 different game modes and 13 arenas to select. The game modes are as listed:

Smack Attack is your typical free for all deathmatch on wheels and with a plethora of weapons to annihilate your enemies and reach the target score before they do.
This is the only mode which isn't initially locked at the beginning of the game.

Gate Relay is your typical checkpoint race, will you be using weapons? Most likely in addition to any other power-ups you can use to elevate your chances of wining.

Flag rally which is the last mode. Players will race to get the flag so some fun capture the flag games are within the reaches of reasonable speculation.

It may not be the most exhilarating game of 2014, but the developers have certainly made an incredible effort to boot this game back up in HD and drastically improve the it from the original games. For $10 its worth a pick up if you were ever in the market for a time to fun converter. It is also cross-platform and once you own it on one console, it will be available at not extra cost on the others. You can play on console and pick up where you left off on the handheld.

A rather unique trailer is below if you are interested and as always feedback is more than welcome. H.I.T.C is interested in listening to your opinions so be sure to let us know what you think about the game. Is it a blast from the past or has the past crumbled away?
