Manchester United transfer target Toni Kroos has added yet another twist to his on-going transfer saga by admitting he enjoys his role at Bayern Munich.
The 24-year-old German international has long been linked with a move to Manchester United after failing to agree a new contract for the Bundesliga champions.
It has been reported in the media over the last few months that the midfielder is unhappy with his reported wage, and wants to sign an extension to his current deal which expires in 2015 but with wages matching top earners Philipp Lahm and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
So far, it appears the Bavarian club are unwilling to compromise, with last season’s Premier League champions Manchester United monitoring the situation carefully.
Despite all the rumours regarding a move to old Trafford, Kroos’ relationship with his teammates and boss in Munich couldn’t be better and in an interview with Uefa.com, he admitted how much he enjoys playing under Catalan boss Pep Guardiola.
“He [Guardiola] has new and different ideas to other coaches which is normal of course.” He was quoted by Europapress.
“We count on flexible players, flexible midfielders and I personally enjoy it very much because it fits in with my style of play.”
Toni Kroos is enjoying a fine campaign under the former Barcelona coach, starting 22 Bundesliga matches and contributing to six goals from a more defensive position.
Having already wrapped up the Bundesliga title, Toni Kroos could yet complete another historic treble as Bayern Munich look to add the Champions League and German Cup to their impressive trophy haul.
