Following Sunderland’s shock results over the past week, Liverpool are firmly in the driving seat to claim their first Premier League title in 24 years.
With just three games remaining, the Reds currently sit five points clear of Chelsea and six ahead of Manchester City who have played a game less.
Brendan Rodgers’ men have been the best side by some distance since the turn of the year, winning the last 11 games on the trot.
Not many could begrudge the Merseysiders a title victory, and it appears that the tide is firmly with them as title rivals Manchester City are set to be without influential star David Silva for the next three weeks.
The Spanish international picked an ankle injury during Manchester City’s routine 3-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion last night.

It will be a bitter blow for Manuel Pellegrini’s men, as David Silva has been one of City’s best performers this season. In 24 Premier League starts, the 28-year-old has scored seven and assisted a further nine – topping the club’s assists chart.
If reports are to be correct, David Silva’s injury means he will miss the Citizen’s tricky trips to Everton and Crystal Palace and will be in a race against time to play the final two matches of the season against Aston Villa and West Ham United at the Etihad stadium.
