Much has been written about Liverpool’s defence this season, and for all their free-flowing brilliance Brendan Rodgers will know his back-line needs to become considerably tighter before their return to the Champions League.
It is one thing conceding two or three but winning anyway domestically, and quite another trying that in Europe’s elite competition.
And so it is that they may be cocking an ear in the direction of the latest reports suggesting a former target could be on the move again.
Liverpool were linked with central defender Nicolas Isimat-Mirin prior to his £3.5million move to Monaco last summer.
But despite finally forcing his way into the starting line-up at the French side, Talk Sport report that Lazio are considering a move for the 22-year-old.
Isimat-Mirin has spent the majority of the campaign on the bench, before starting four consecutive Ligue 1 matches for Claudio Ranieri’s side last month.
But despite this increased game-time, it is being suggested he could still be on his way. And with the Italian side said to be interested, should Rodgers make a move for a young player with bags of potential who could ultimately form an effective defensive partnership with Mamadou Sakho?
