Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly been keeping a close eye on Benfica under-19 star Goncalo Guedes.
The Frenchman has always been superb at Arsenal when it comes to investing in youth players at early ages before helping them become established members of his first team.
Here are five facts about the youngster.
He’s 17-years-old and can play two positions; as a striker and as a left sided winger.
He’s been one of the Benfica under-19 side’s best players so far this season with four goals and an assist from his eight appearances.
He’s played for Portugal already at three different levels of international football; under-16, under-17 and under-18.
He’s played just once in senior football for Benfica this season; 21 minutes for the second team in a 4-1 defeat away at FC Porto.
Benfica are currently in the process of negotiating a senior contract with him which will include a buy-out clause.
