Collymore: I think Mourinho would jilt true love Chelsea for United

Jose Mourinho Chelsea

talkSPORT commentator believes Chelsea boss would jump at the chance to boss Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho could make himself available for the Manchester United managerial role almost one year after it was first 'open', writes talkSPORT radio host Stan Collymore.

The Special One may be the incumbent at Chelsea, but he was "gutted" to be overlooked by the upper brass at Stretford when a successor to retiring boss Sir Alex Ferguson was being discussed last season.

Mourinho was at Real Madrid when it was announced that Ferguson would be stepping away from the Old Trafford dugout and would be leaving the touchline warm for Moyes. The Portuguese then returned to Stamford Bridge - a move that made him rebrand himself "The Happy One" during his first press conference during his second spell in charge at Chelsea.

However, despite his apparent love affair with the Blues, he could depart SW6 if an enticing opportunity presented itself.

Collymore said: "I think the Special One would jilt his true love for [Manchester United] you know."

He added: "Jose was gutted the first time not to get it… he'll be thinking "damn, it's come up again!" Is he shameless enough to walk from Chelsea. You know the answer."
