The 'Chosen One' banner FOR SALE on eBay - how much?

Old Trafford

One lucky fan is set to walk away with the infamous 'Chosen One' banner after it is has been registered for sale on eBay.

David Moyes’ sacking has been received by a range of comical reactions, but none more so than the sale of the infamous Old Trafford ‘Chosen One’ Banner.

Whilst BBC sport have reported that the banner -which had become a focal point of David Moyes's struggles as Manchester United manager - may end up in a museum, one resourceful fan has resorted to placing the symbolic item on popular auction site Ebay.

The item is accompanied by a light-hearted description, in which the seller offers to include England international midfielder Thomas Cleverly, for the meagre price of £64.1m.

We have also been warned to look out for banners of a similar nature, with Louis Van Gaal clearly the seller’s favourite to succeed the departing Moyes.

Below is the description of the item in question.

"One previous owner, well used, highly sought after and will soon be a relic.

"After an 10 months stint in one of the countries top jobs (I should know), David Moyes was sacked as Manager of Man United on 22/04/14, when the NYSE opened. This banner was the subject of many arguments and it was even protected by security for fear of being torn down by angry, angry fans... Fans who wanted the poor David's head.

"Please be aware that this is in fact, second hand and I will accept no returns as this is sold as seen. It may have various "F**K off" writing on it, or cigarettes stubbed out on it, it may even have some greenies on it, but overall it is in decent nick.

"I will take this Banner today and I will deliver it to you, at your door. I leave for America soon to take up teaching, but all-in-all, I should fit in the time to get this in. Watch this space for future Banners such as, "The Gagging One", "Louis-eh Van-eh Gaal-eh!" and "Welcome to United Thin Spanish Waiter".

"I will set a Buy it Now for 64.1 Million on this item and for that, I will throw in Tom Cleverl-eh!"

The banner is currently mid-auction. At time of publication it was available for bids in excess of £10,100.
