Moyes rumours denied! 'Nothing has happened at all,' United's director of communications is quoted as saying

Old Trafford 2

The future of Manchester United manager David Moyes has been put into question today, but the latest claim suggests otherwise.

The internet is currently awash with rumours suggesting Manchester United manager David Moyes will soon be out of a job.

As yet, they are unsubstantiated, and appear to have come after one defeat too many - this time at the hands of Moyes' former side Everton.

Various media outlets reported earlier today that United have refused to dismiss speculation their manager was heading for the exit, with some reports claiming the Glazers and Ed Woodward were locked in talks to discuss the club's future.

For now, much remains a mystery, but CNN sports anchor Amanda Davies has tweeted claiming United's director of communications, Phil Townsend, has dismissed the rumours in a conversation with Senior Sports Producer John Sinnott.

Of course that is simply more speculation in what is fast becoming a mountain of the stuff.  But it appears rumours of Moyes' demise may be premature.
