A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Monday morning

Tottenham Hotspur Head Coach Tim Sherwood has said that striker Harry Kane would never have got the same kind of opportunity under any other manager.

Kane has scored in each of his last three Premier League games and Sherwood has suggested that other managers don’t look to their academy enough for players.

The Spurs boss is quoted in London 24 saying: “I’ve seen a lot of under-21 football and there are a lot of players about that deserve an opportunity but they just get shipped out somewhere else or go by the wayside and don’t feel loved.

“The other managers sometimes need the comfort of watching them play in the Premier League before saying ‘yeah okay you might be able to do it for us as a bit-part.

“That’s what Harry has had to be – he’s waited his time and now he’s got an opportunity and he’s taking it.”

Midfielder Nacer Chadli has told the Tottenham website that he is pleased to see the goal tally rising because of recent performances, the latest a 3-1 win over Fulham at White Hart Lane this weekend.

He said: “We create enough chances to score goals and we’ve been putting some of them away.

“Everybody is happy after the result. We played very well and it’s a good win for us.”

Hugo Lloris saved a penalty during the game from Steve Sidwell, and he told the official Tottenham website that luck played it's part.

The Frenchman said: “You never know in football, especially in the Premier League, if they scored the penalty I’m sure it would have been another interesting end to the game.

“Luck plays a part in penalties. There is more chance the striker will score than the goalkeeper will save but this time, the luck was on my side.”
